みなさん　こんにちは

パソコンの「環境」と言う言葉、「私んちは南向きの２ＬＤＫです。
日当たりはとても良いです。」と答えてはいけないことは、重々知っ
ていますが、では、英語でなんて言うの？

environmentではいけないのでしょうねえ。どなたか教えて。

　環境変数は、environment variable というから、これで
　いいんでしょうと答えようとしたら、環境設定になると
　configuration というから判らなくなりました。(?_?)

早速のレスを有難うございました。

http://www.yourdictionary.com/　と言うのを見つけて、引いてみました。すると、

environmentについては、computer science　の項があって、

a.The entire set of conditions under which one operates a computer, as
it relates to the hardware, operating platform, or operating system.

b.An area of a computer's memory used by the operating system and some
programs to store certain variables to which they need frequent access.

また、configuration　についても同じように

a.The way in which a computer system is set up:
changed the configuration by resetting the parameters.

b.The set of constituent components, such as memory, a hard disk,
a monitor, and an operating system, that make up a computer system.

c.The way that the components of a computer network are connected.

とありましたから、微妙に違いますが、同じように使えそうですね。でも、接続に
ついても包含させたい時は後者の方が良いのでしょうか。

　処でしょうが　兎に角　日本語が　出現した事は　嬉しいですね。
