Good afternoon rame-san and everybody!
Quote:Oh! It 's the first time to hear about this.
I have a weak chest and if I get a cough, it may continue for several months.
Absolutely, I will try, too. I already have starch syrup, which I bought to make KURIKINTON (a dessert made from chestnuts and sweet potatoes)
Can you get a lot of liquid from this or is it equivalent to say a whisky-glass full?
I drink something made from Chinese kumquat or boiled sweet karin (Chinese quince) when I have a cold
I hear putting spring onion around your neck is effective, but I have never tried it.
Thank you for telling us of such a unique drink for colds.

Let's introduce a drink, which is effective against coughs and sore throats as taught to me by my mother.
First, cut a Japanese radish into round slices and then, divide each slice into four from its center. After this, pour some starch syrup (sold in nearby supermarkets and such like-it's all right for that!) onto the pieces.
After a while, liquid appears from this mixture.
You drink it by gargling it so as to moisten your throat.
If you're not very bad, your throat will be better in no time at all.
Please try it by all means.
